Porting a native code Common LISP compiler is a major task, and recognizing this fact Synthesis Software Solutions, Inc., which is the software consortium for the MIPS processor, has funded Franz Inc. to port Allegro CL to the MIPS processor. This work is almost complete for the Silicon Graphics 4D and the MIPS M Series computers. At the completion of these ports, Franz Inc. will release on the DECStation 3100 after hacking the port to handle the "reversed" byte order (with respect to the rest of the current MIPS workstation offerings) on the 3100. Please contact Franz Inc. for more specific information (info%franz.uucp@Berkeley.EDU). Kevin Layer
