I have recently downloaded a huge amount of diff files. These
files numbered minix_1 through minix_40 are supposed to get me to
1.3.  This is my VERY first attempt to upgrade this thing and I guess
what I'm looking for is a little advice from someone who has done it
on a good strategy.  One problem I hit right off the bat is the lack of
a sed command.  Where do I get sed?  Also, what are the major and minor
device umbers for the rs-232 ports, they don't seem to be in the diffs.
