Maybe when you run at the higher speeds something is trying to use software flow control (^S & ^Q), and thus toasting dnet... Also, make sure that there isn't any software (like terminal concentrators) somewhere in between you and the host that intercept any characters (like ^] in telnet for instance). -Miles
