First, are all SCSI's created equally? Essentially, will any SCSI drive work with both the GS and Mac? Will all utility programs (partitioning, defragmentation, etc.) work with all SCSI drives, assuming they're used with the Rev. C SCSI card? Second, are there any good mail order (or not) places for getting SCSI drives and/or cards? I'm currently looking at 45M Rodimes for $850 or 40M Everex's for $800 - is this a good price (both need another $120 for the card). Finally, does access time mean anything on the GS, or is the computer too slow to keep up with the drive anyway? How about on a Mac? I understand that SCSI cards have their own buffers for data read from the disk, so access times *do mean something, but my source isn't particularly reliable. Thanks for any help. -- Subash Shankar Honeywell Systems & Research Center voice: (612) 782 7558 US Snail: 3660 Technology Dr., Minneapolis, MN 55418 Internet: shankar@src.honeywell.com
