First of all I have RTC.PRG(a program that sets the correct time at bootup by using the Z TIME chip I have installed in my ST), ETERNAL.PRG (a ram disk), TWARP.PRG(to speed up disk reads), and STARTGEM(to autoload NEO-DESK) in my auto folder. Now for the problem: If I leave my ST on for > 15 minutes without using the floppy disk, the floopy will not work right. For example, I boot up the st (everything starts ok) and leave it idle for >15 minutes then I double click on a folder (auto for example). The path will show a:\auto\*.* but the directory listing will be wrong (the disk did not spin). If I double click on the close box the path will change to a:\*.* but the directory listing will stay the same (the disk does not spin). However, if I pop the disk and put it back in everything works correctly. I am not sure if waiting another 15 minutes will recreate the problem (I never tried it). By the way, I already tried booting up the st without an auto folder and no accessories. I get the same problem! If I am running Word Writer ST for > 15 minutes and attempt to do a save to disk the file prints to the screen. What can be causing this to happen. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance Bill Oswald a.k.a wao@aluxz
