Message-ID: <1041@vsi.COM> Date: 29 Jan 89 08:15:50 GMT Organization: V-Systems, Inc. -- Santa Ana, CA Lines: 19 Hi folks, We just installed a 60mb SCSI cartridge tape drive on our 3B2/400 -- oh happy day -- and wish to tune our backup scripts to run as fast as possible. Does anybody know the optimal block sizes for cpio on these devices? An "optimal" response would include a matrix of blocksizes for 60 and 120mb tape on the /400 and /600 (assuming there is a difference in the latter). For the time being, we're using 5120-byte blocks... Please email, I'll summarize & post. Steve -- Stephen J. Friedl 3B2-kind-of-guy friedl@vsi.com V-Systems, Inc.
