Hey, gang, a little help, here, eh?!?

I'm trying to determine how to get the CD signal to follow the true
state of the carrier on the afore-mentioned modem.  I've RTFM, I've 
called Anchor - no avail!!  Someone please help me (heeellllp me!)!


The manual for this bugger says there are 8 switches inside - wrong!!
Only four.
Anchor says those four are for determining what COM port you're using.
So whaddami s'posed to do?????
