Earlier versions had trouble working on the Mac II (5.4 can in 5 flavors, I think, 4 of which were for Mac IIs of varying sizes). (MacsBug is currently version 6.0) Also, make sure that the file is not damaged, that the file is really MacsBug and not the old AutoBlack screen saver, and that the filename is exactly 'MacsBug' (case not significant).
