Duhhhhh......

Well, that was real DUMB.  I make a huge point of saying "know where all your
inits come from and exactly what they do..."  and then I promptly go and
ignore my own advice.

My problems with virus detective were caused by the fact that I had not given
rights for it to work in Gatekeeper, which I had carelessly tossed on my
hard drive without thinking too deeply about it.
