I find it very useful to use command-Q to shutdown my machine, which I
did with ResEdit & Finder 5.5.  It's sort of like logging off -- just
keep hitting command-Q until the Mac II shuts off.  Of course,
sometimes hit command-Q twice by mistake, but I've never lost
something important this way. Overall, it's very useful.
