There were some formatting problems of this type in version 3.0, but in 3.01 they were fixed. Try holding down the shift key and selecting Re-paginate with the mouse. If the document could have become corrupt somehow, do a Save As... and click the formats button and select InterChange format. This will save the document in RTF (Rich Text Format).
