We are looking into providing a central "backup server" for our uVAX and SUN workstations. This system would use rdump to take disk backups. However, we'd like to avoid the vast number of 1/2 tape reels this would require. Recently there have been ads for helical scan technology tape drives. Has anyone actually used them? Any other comments on backing up disks over Ethernet? --Mike Michael Morse Internet: mmorse@note.nsf.gov National Science Foundation BITNET: mmorse@NSF Telephone: (202) 357-7659
