A local group is thinking of getting X server terminals. Unless they can swap resources (i.e. fonts) to backing store, it's not clear that they're very useful. e.g., when I use texx2, which uses X fonts instead of bitmaps, my server suddenly grows to 2.5 or 3.5Mb, depending on the number of fonts I'm using at once.
