Lines: 20 Clearly, due to hardware limitations (memory, CPU, screen resolution, screen depth, etc.), X terminals are not going to be able to work (reasonably or at all) with some X applications. This is probably true, however, of almost all workstations that run X. There's always room for a bigger, faster machine. For the price, though, I see X terminals replacing alot of the PC's you currently find in large organizations. You can do fancy word processing, data base access, most software development, etc. from an X terminal. This gives you all the power of your UNIX hosts (including access to your UNIX network and file servers), through a low cost, multi-window, graphics terminal. They're not for everyone, but I think they are appropriate for many people. Ken Lee -- klee@daisy.uucp Daisy Systems Corp., Interactive Graphics Tools Dept.
