I just got the new gnuchess from venera.isi.edu. In order to get it
to link under R3 I changed the LDFLAGS line in the xchess/makefile to:

	LDFLAGS = -z -loldX -lX11 -lm

When I typed xchess -c -p../gnuchess, the board came up and after some
unreadable messages in the msg area and a few hundred 
"Error: parse_imove: piece of wrong color" messages in the xterm window
xchess was started from the message area said "program died". Can anyone
help? What more information do I need to provide ?
