Does anybody know of a solution? I think it might be a bit of a security risk to have emacs listen directly on a network socket. A workaround you can use, however, is to execute emacsclient on the remote machine through an rsh (or a shell window to the other machine if you like). For automagic emacsclient calls, you will probably have to go the rsh route. A little slower, but once you get the faster emacs open on your file, you should make it up... -- /jr jr@bbn.com or bbn!jr
