If I'm wrong to post it here, apologies in advance. I just thought I'd save a few people some frustration. Processing a texinfo file with TeX and texindex produces a file suffixed ".cps". If you use Sun's make program, beware that it assumes ".cps" files contain C/PostScript interface routines (for use with NeWS). Sun make may decide to run "cps" on the file, and clobber source code.
