It's possible that there is a gateway Fidonet node out there, forwarding Usenet onto Fidonet. I'm using the translation software (Usenet <-> Fido) now to read this message. It's called UFGATE, and (besides the uucico implimentation, and news/mail importers/exporters), it includes utilities to forward news and mail to another Fidonet node.
