In a previous life (as a news admin) I had the same type of problem. I don't
recall the excat specifics, but basically what had happened was I specified
one directory when installing the news software, but then changed my mind
about some directory names. As it turned out the sendbatch script was still
using the directory that I specified at intstall time, and not the directory
I was really using for outgoing news. I hope this helps, but these are foggy
memories nowdays.....
