I have no idea how Fax machines work, but the one in our office sure sounds like a modem to me. I don't know what the protocol is, but wouldn't it be great if those things used a standard that was documented somewhere? And then we could write great programs so your mail UA could talk to a fax machine somwhere instead of your typical MTA. Dan Heller
