Could someone explain to me how to avoid conflicts in the following case.

My site is 'masnet' and I am polling 'tmsoft' for my mail/news.  

Tmsoft has data files d.masnet (news data) and d.tmsoft (converted to x.masnet)
on my side and I now have d.tmsoft (no conflict) outbound data to them
and d.masnet (outgoing X.*) (CONFLICT!).  How do uucp's get around this?
I am in the process of finishing off a uucico for my pc.
