After what I thought would be an endless battle, Minix 1.1 now runs on
my Unisys PW2 Series 850.  The solution was provided by James Krause
(krause%uicsrd@uxc.cso.uiuc.edu).  Thank you VERY much.

The solution was the removal of the "lock nop" instruction sequence in
klib88.s.

Thanks to all those that provided clues.
