 Help.  I am a UNIX user and have been trying to get minix to
 boot on my compatible for the longest time. Here is the problem:

 I boot 1.1 with the boot disk.  All works well.I get the proper menu
 and no screen garbage.  I can check the filesystem, check and list the 
 filesystem, mak a filesystem, check the hard drive (although i get an
 error here ..its a dos disk) but it refuses to load root.

 Upon hitting the "=" to load root...the cursor moves one line down
 directly below the "=" and hangs. Sometimes it will move to the
 bottom and say: Unexpected trap: Vector <16
 pc = 0x4478 text+data+bss = 9A00

 what is going on here? is it the bios? It boots on othere machines..
 ..help me mr. tannenbaum.....please!
