Moreover, most of those evolved, so that if they had been standardised without first being tested, we would have something less useful. In other words, if you want it done, do it yourself, then hack away at it until you really like it. *Then* cry out for standards, if you still need them---likely most people will have installed your code already anyway. (I realise that some of you are doing this already. Make that, `I hope that some of you....' The approach is not perfect, but it is much more fruitful than sending mail to tcp-ip.) Chris
