The protocol is very simple, see RFC 868.  The only complex issue is figuring
out what the offset from GMT to local time is (particularly in the presence
of changing Daylight Savings laws).

You should be able to use ours before the PC/NFS resident module is loaded.
Afterwards, we're likely to argue with them over state of the LAN interface.
