In <777@csd4.milw.wisc.edu>, you ask about Icon for the Amiga. I've been using it for about 8 months, maybe a year. You can get Version 6 from one of the Fred Fish disks or you can get it from the University of Arizona (Version 7 is out for UNIX and VMS; "soon" for Icon). There's a newsgroup devoted to Icon, comp.lang.icon, as well as a mailing list, ICON-GROUP@arizona.edu, which forwards comp.lang.icon to places that don't receive news. You can join the mailing list by sending your name and e-mail address to ICON-GROUP-REQUEST@arizona.edu. In case you don't know, Icon is a language for string and pattern manipulation. It has some nifty, non-conventional features (e.g. generators and co-expressions) built into it. Icon is the work of Dr. Ralph Griswold, one of the authors of SNOBOL, and his students.
