The cheapest apple compatible with a MIDI interface is the new Laser 128 ex+
Its about four times as fast as a IIc, has a 3.5 inch drive in the side,
an und external drive connector on the back, a clock built in
a one meg ram board (socketed but no ram chips), and a midi interface
in the back.

It comes with the normal Laser equipment...super serial printer card,
super serial modem card, parallel printer card, mouse/joystick port,
rgb  port, 80 column card, etc.

I'm pretty sure they have a 3.5er in the side.

Its cheaper than the IIc+.

I don't pretend to know squat about using MIDI though.
