A friend of mine installed an RCA audio jack on the back of his monitor,
connecting the jack to the "incoming" side of the volume control..
 
This allows him to turn the monitor down, while still feeding the audio to
the jack..  one of these days, I'm going to get around to doing this to
MY monitor too..!
