Unfortunately, it doesn't work. The modem is 1200 baud on com3: (I have to tell Telix it is on com4: to get it to work). The direct-connect port is on com2: and runs at 19200 baud. The only way to get either of these ports to work is to make it the default port that gets initialized when I start up Telix. If I try to switch to the other port while running Telix, it doesn't work. I get no response from either the modem or the direct-connect port, depending on which one I am trying to switch to.
