As for 'btoa' it is an alternate means of converting 8-bit files into printing ASCII, similar to uuencode, but with greater efficiency. (20 % bloat vs. 33%.). Unlike uuencode, 'btoa' does not incorporate a filename into the header. Maybe we should create 'btencode'?
