I am considering the addition of a 3.5" 1.44 Mg floppy.

Currently I am running SCO 2.2 286 version. Can this drive
be used with this release?

I have not found anything about it in the release notes.

However, I assume that the addition of drivers would be 
required.

Has anyone added these drivers? Where did you get them?
