Sorry for troubling everyone. I was using a set of fonts called "Laser", which I assumed meant the laserwriter. These came from a PD archive. Somehow, they are not the same fonts as the laserwriter needs, even though they look the same and come in all the same types & sizes. Anyway, I reinstalled all my fonts from the "Mac II" font file that came with my computer, and things are working again. Don Gillies, Dept. of Computer Science, University of Illinois 1304 W.
