I called MacLand on Tuesday to order a disk drive after seeing their ad in MacWorld. I raised a technical question and was immediately put through to someone who provided the answers. When I was reconnected with the order desk I placed my order and was told the amount of the shipping charge and the total price for my order. (No other mail order house I called this week volunteered this information.) I was also told that the drive I wanted was back ordered and that they expected to receive a shipment two days later. (Again, the other operations didn't volunteer the availability status of the items in my order. I had to ask.) BTW, the drive arrived on Friday via Federal Express, just three days after I placed the order.
