It has been a while since I did any PC support, but I do recall that the only
cable configuration that we could get to work, was a genuine HP LaserJet
cable (they will sell them seperately).  You could call HP and they might
give you the pin-outs (we did this and found that they were listed in their
manuals incorrectly, so eventually broke out a tester and worked them out
for ourselves.. they may have the correct info now as this was some time
ago).
