This happens in all applications. Is there any #way to print bold-face Symbol on the LaserWriter? # The original LaserWriter had the boldface symbol font, but the upgraded version did not (they replaced that part of the ROM with more sophisticated program, I believe). We discovered this early on as we were among the first to get the upgraded ROMs. We were told that Apple never said BF Symbol was supported. I get around this by overprinting a symbol with the same symbol shifted one point to the right (using the overprint feature of Word). Kludgy, doesn't really look that great. The only really satisfactory solution, I think, is to buy a symbol font that has boldface, and to download it into the LW when needed. Bill Jefferys -- Glend. I can call spirits from the vasty deep.
