MacLink is probably the best solution for Mac to IBM and IBM to Mac File 
Transfers.  It has the ability to be used over a direct connection or by
remote modem.  The files are transferred via a "folder" for each machine and
directory.  It will also convert file formats (i.e. IBM Microsoft Word to
Mac Microsoft Word and Visa versa).
