When I upgraded my Mac Plus to 2.5 MB, I had a similar experience, though
perhaps not as extreme as yours.  I just assumed it was taking longer to
initialize/check the extra memory.  One thing I _did_ notice was that I get
a bomb ID=15 on boot perhaps one in 20 times, which is a segment loader error
according to my list.  This appears to be a random problem.
