OK, I tried it, and I see what you mean. I tried lots of variations of CONFIG.SYS and AUTOEXEC.BAT files, but it always stalled. The only thing I can think of is that it wants a printer driver file (the "booklet" explaining the DOS commands makes mention, under MODE LFOFF, of a Lpdrvr.sys file, which isn't on any of the disks). There are some printer drivers scattered around on the disks, but they all start with "DM", so I assume they're tailored to work with Deskmate. I looked quickly in the DOS book I bought at a bookstore, but it looked like the MODE LPTn stuff should be pretty straightforward.
