There's yet another problem. Awk, as distributed by Microport, won't handle even a 5-6K awk script! It complains about a "regular expression too large" and exits. This makes several things not work, including smail 3's configuration scripts. My attempt to work around this putting together a minimal replacement for awk failed due to yet ANOTHER problem in 2.3/2.4 -- the kernel PANICs if you try to do any floating point operations without a coprocessor!
