We have VAX 11/780s with BSD 4.3 and SUN 2,3,&4s with Sun UNIX 4.2 Release 3.4, Sun UNIX 4.2 Release 3.5, and SunOS Release Sys4-3.2 respectively. Each machine has at most one tape drive. I have tried dd and tcopy with most permutations of their options to no avail. If anybody knows of a solution I would appreciate e-mail. If a solution does appear I will post.
