Source format (BDF) documentation can be found in R3 in doc/bdf/*
(or in hardcopy/bdf/bdf.PS.Z).  Binary format (SNF) documentation
is a little harder to come by; there is some discussion in
doc/Server/ddx.tbl.ms, but you may be better off perusing the source
to the compiler, in fonts/bdftosnf/*.
