Here is the situation: I have a Sun 3/60C running SunOS 3.4. This worked in X11R2: after logging in: > suntools -8bit_color_only -toggle_enable and then in a shelltool: > suntools -d /dev/bwtwo1 -toggle_enable -n & > adjacentscreens -c /dev/fb -l /dev/bwtwo1 moving the mouse cursor left off the first desktop to the new desktop and typing in a shelltool: > setenv XDEVICE /dev/bwtwo1 > overview -w xinit -- Xsun Now I would have a color suntools session and a black and white X session simply by moving the mouse cursor from one to the other. Now in X11R3: after typing > overview -w xinit -- Xsun I get Fatal server bug! Can't find any displays giving up. xinit: Protocol wrong type for socket (errno 41): unable to connect to X server Am I missing something simple here? I hope this isn't a "feature"! Thanks for any information anyone can give me. Orlie Brewer brewer@mcs.anl.gov
