The reason I ask is that my news feed can only have so many characters per line in his sys file and there is not much room for me to get picky about the groups I receive. I would really like to be able to get even pickier. yes, you can have multiple entries for a single system. we do it to control transport mechanism and delivery rate since our sendbatch looks for files of the name '' and then run 'sendbatch ' from the crontab. Assuming your feed is running 2.11 news though, you shouldn't have to split up your entries as it allows 1024 chars per sys file entry. (tell your feed to look at s_read() in funcs2.c ; LBUFLEN == 1024 in defs.h) try the following, its more readable : -rj ( be *very* careful you dont have spaces after the last comma on each line ) telesci:world,usa,na,nj,\ comp.unix,comp.sources,comp.sys.cbm,comp.sys.ibm,comp.os,\ comp.lang.c,comp.mail,comp.risks,comp.terminals,comp.archives,\ comp.editors,comp.edu,comp.doc,comp.org,news,\ alt.bbs,alt.sources,alt.gourmand,\ misc.forsale,misc.wanted,misc.security,misc.misc,\ rec.food,rec.games.frp,rec.games.programmer,rec.games.empire,\ rec.arts.startrek,\ soc.college,sci.psychology:U:
