Some animal research produces results useful to humans or animals, some does not. The benefits of some animal research could be achieved without using animals, some can not. However, whenever one takes a position that "it is worth it", or "it is not worth it", this is a moral position, and one should recognize that an important voice may not be heard on the issue: the animal's. Some attempt to consider the animal's viewpoint, some do not. Those who consider it may give it different weight, but the animal does not speak.
