Could someone out there kindly tell me if there's a difference, from a user
point of view, between TTL, Schottky and Low-Power Schottky (7400, 74S00,
74LS00) families?  Can these chip families be intermixed without any operational
problems?

Also, a relay question:  What does "0 voltage turn on, 0 current turn off" mean?
How about random voltage turn on?

I have my project designed, it's just I'm not incredibly experienced with the
physical selection of chips part.
