In April, 1985 we went to Florida and saw a launch after getting a car pass from NASA. The pass gets you to within about 5 miles of the launch pad. You park on a causeway and look across the water to the launch pad. Try to get there early so you can get a spot next to the water. We arrived 4 hours before the launch and there was still plenty of room. The phone number was 305-867-2363 or you could write to: NASA Public Affairs PA-VIC Kennedy Space Center, Florida 32899 Hope you get to go. It was well worth the trip!
