The launch, originally scheduled for Feb. 23, must occur by March 18 so as not to delay a high-priority Venus probe mission by the shuttle Atlantis in mid-April [Magellan STS-30]. Replacement pumps were ordered after engineers studied cracks in a pump on Atlantis during its mission in December."
