When I hear something like "defining constraints", I think that the RDBMS would give me a possibility to define it e.g. within the create table statement (using DEC-RDB you are able to do so). I don't want to garantee the logical integrety (spelling correct ?) by myself. That's what the original question was about, I think. BTW, your given solution is very well indeed.
