Well, it seems that I took an inode hit (thanks Phil!!) and caused all
sorts of nasty things to go wrong.  I need to increase the inode size a bit
and this should clean everything up.

I just received a free update (thanks SCO) to 2.2.3 from 2.2.2 and this,
coupled with the changes to the inode size, should fix it.
