I'm running PC LAN 1.1 on Token Ring cards and I'd like to let two or more secretaries run WP4.1 or 5.0 from the server - essentially making the hard drive on the server their own. Often I'll get an error telling me that the network drive isn't ready. From what I can figure this is caused by the time lag in accessing the drive over the network. My question is - what parameters are the best on the server at start-up to make it ideal for this situation? Are there preferred ways to start the node to facilitate this situation? A couple weeks ago I asked how to get WP to print to a network printer with out exiting all the way to DOS. Writing the print job to a file called lpt3 did the job for most cases, but I sometimes got errors like disk drive full, or disk not ready. Any clues? Thanks Declan Fleming, U of I
